Have you guys scheduled your anatomy scans yet?

I had my intake appt on Friday and they scheduled my next few appts which included my anatomy scan!  July 15th we will hopefully be finding out what Squishy is Smile

Are you finding out what you're having?

Re: *Claire and Julia*

  • No! I don't know why but my practice doesn't schedule past the next appt.

They are kind of low key - they generally don't even do an u/s until 18 weeks unless you opt for the first tri early risk assessment (which we did because I couldn't tell people without seeing the baby first and felt like I could not hide my pregnancy for 6 more weeks).

My next appt is 5/11 at 16 weeks and I imagine we will schedule my next appt at 20 weeks (since we have been doing that so far - 8, 12,16...) and do the anatomy scan that day too, I guess. I hope :-) so probably week of 5/23ish?

ETA: Yes, we will be finding out. I always wanted to be team green until I found out I was pregnant. Now I want to know :-)

  • I was actually surprised they scheduled me so far out (I have my appts through 7/29 scheduled!).

We're doing the early risk scan/tests too.  I got an u/s at 7 weeks, but I am using this scan as my point of telling everyone else that we're pregnant.  I want to know that everything looks good before we go announcing to everyone.

Wow! that is kind of nuts!!! It is so funny how different practices do such different things. My OB practice is very "low intervention" - they didn't even do an u/s at my 8 week appt to date the pregnancy or anything. They did a pelvic and she said that if my uterus felt too big/small for 8 weeks they'd do an u/s but it felt right. Everything has been good so far.

I totally agree - I was just way too scared to tell people without seeing a real live baby in there, and a heartbeat and all that. Even if I'd had an 8 week u/s I probably would have done it, becuase it just gave us peace of mind. Plus, it turns out (luckily) that our risk is very very low, so that made me feel better (although we had no intention of further testing or termination if results had come back elevated anyway).

Ours is scheduled for June 20th at 1:20pm Smile

We will be finding out (provided baby B cooperates).  I could go either way with finding out but DH really wanted to, so we will.  I am excited!

I have all my 4 week appointments scheduled, so through August 12th.  Then one of these next appointments I will schedule the rest.

My OB does the ultrasounds herself (no second locations or techs) and that is really nice.  I had another appointment last Friday and she pulled out the Doppler for the heartbeat and had mentioned if she couldn't find it yet, that she would just do another u/s (love that she doesn't hesitate to do them).  We heard the heartbeat right away so that was cool!

We told friends and family right away but then told work and FB after our 9 week dating u/s.
