Does anyone have the Roomba or something like the Roomba that they love?
Thanks
Re: Roomba
My friend had one, she used it on vinyl/linoleum in bathrooms, which worked okay-ish, but not great. It is amusing watching the thing though :-)

Eating our way through (northern) Italy on vacation
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DMy grandparents have one and love it. However, their carpet is brand new and with just the two of them there's not a lot of traffic. I've seen their in action, even though it goes in crazy directions it seems to get every part of the room.
I don't think it would work as well as my regular vacuum. I have a long haired cat and a dog, plus we have people in and out all the time. I think it would depend on how your carpet is and the foot traffic on it for it to be completely effective.
How loud are they? I've been considering getting one because we have two dogs, and I hear it can take a whole hour to do just one room. I'd think setting the timer to go off in the middle of the night so the dogs don't bug it would be good, but is it too loud for that?
We just got one and have run it once. However, my sister has had one for about 2 years and loves hers. Both of us have long haired himalyan cats. Neither one of us has the programmable version. My sister says you just have to clean the filter every time you use it.
1. Its good for daily, light cleanup. It doesn't deep clean, and you will need a second vacuum for this and for corners.
2. Its very quiet, sounds like an air filter. The cats are not scared of it. Mine is territorial towards it and thinks its our new pet. She's not happy and keeps trying to attack it when it's not looking. My sister's cat has figured out it's a cleaning servant and likes to babysit it. Apparently, if it gets stuck she will tell my sister. Both these cats are scared of traditional vacuums.
3. It did take a while to clean the living room, and isn't as efficient as it seems like it could be, but it got the whole thing.
4. For the engineers: My husband is excited because the Roomba comes with a license agreement and he can tamper with the computer, legally. It uses bluetooth technology to do this and he has to buy some sort of adaptor.
