garage sale/tag sale question

so my neigbors have decided to have a neighborhood garage sale. i have a few things that i would like to sell. most of my stuff is in good condition and is not junk- just stuff i dont want around if we are (fingers crossed) to move. so... some items that i want to put out are - strollers, some small furniture pieces, unopened or never used kitchen things... anyway i am wondering about pricing. for example , the stroller i have is hardly used. i bought it for @  $500  3 years ago. even if i were to list it on craigslist- what type of pricing?  thanks!

Re: garage sale/tag sale question

  • What kind of stroller? Single or double? I am on the hunt for a double.
  • with something like an $$$ stroller, you may be better off consigning it.  Most people don't want to pay more than 40.00 for  a stroller at a yard sale.

  • people low ball at yard sales...I would put big ticket items on craigslist

By any chance to you have a baby swing you are getting rid of?  My friend is looking for one for her parents house.

  • thanks! thats what i am worried about with a yard sale... most of my stuff is new or hardly used and in great condition. chris wants to just donate everything... which we probably will do  as well.

the stroller is a single stroller- i have a chicco double and paid $150- hardly used that, but i am thinking i might need it with isla and the new baby, so i might hang onto that. jerrah, i have to go through the baby stuff and decide just what we want to get rid of and what we should keep for #3. i might get rid of the swing. its the fisher price one with the fish.

  • I would craigslsit the $$$ for 300 ...but i honestly have no clue on that stuff.  We are going to do a yard sale, which we are SO not they type to have them at all, never have and will prob be our only one, when we eventulaay have it.  I gave a friend majority of good toys and some stuff I salvationed army already, stuff taht was too bad to sell, well, just didn't want to be selling- still ok, but not all taht great and wouldn't be worth much at all.  I am having trouble of what to ask for stuff, knowing my $ need to be cheap... like what to ask for a cheap umbrella stroller that was used once.  I am keeping some stuff like highchair and pack n play for friends who come over with kids... wonder if that is silly though.  i think iit is my excuse not to get rid of yet. :)  It is just easier to give away to friends or to salvation army, although I am thinking of consigning, but that seems liek a lot of effort too... just don't have the time to get the stuff over to the store, nevermond getting it ready.
