Our house DIY project thusfar... (pics)

I'm taking the first Saturday off since we got the house. 1. Because DH is off in Pennsylvania with his buddies playing airsoft, 2. Gas is painfully expensive 3. It's taken me a month to get 1/3 of the way though my book (I'm usually a book a day off person)

Thought I'd share the progress we(I)'ve made so far.

  • Wow you have come a really long way, you deserve a day off! I love all the colors in your house too. So bright and cheerful.

We also have the Ikea dog butt for our dogs leash. I love it!

  • It's looking good!  I also love all of the colors.  And I really like your stairs!  Did you totally DIY those?  DH and I really want to take the carpet off of our stairs and do wood because the carpet is really showing the daily wear and tear.  Yours turned out so well!
  • Your home is really coming along!!! It looks great! You can really tell that you guys have been working hard to make it your own! You deserved the day off. :-)

Btw...LOVE the blue in your kitchen! :-)

  • Thanks! DH is more of an earth tones kind of guy, he says it's like walking into a bag of skittles. He likes it though. We have done everything DIY (except the painting, obviously) because we just don't have any money. We are, however going to hire a electrician to convert our fuse box... or something?? I know nothing about that. All the wood that is showing was like that under the carpet. We haven't put any flooring down, only taken off the carpet from on top.

  • Did I see layers upon layers of wall paper? That must have been a B to remove. I love your colors. My favorites are the lavender and orange. White cabinets for the kitchen are a great choice too.  You have done so much work!!! Looks awesome.
  • Great work!!!  I love the orange room and your dark bedroom colour.  Colourful houses are awesome!!  You must be so proud of yourselves.  :)

Oh, and we have the same Ikea table in our meeting room at work.  How crazy is that!!

That's funny, we have the same table in our kitchen, but in the birch wood color. Love the drawers!

  • WOWZERS lady...that's some impressive progress!  I don't know how you're staying sane, it's such a lot of work.  But you're results are rockin, def take that day off tho!  :-)
