Re: Tell Us Tuesday

  • My mom is the best person ever, so there are too many memories to list.

But I can share one memory :)  I love to eat, and have so many favorite dishes, so for our wedding shower, my mom made me a cook book of all of my favorite recipes, and the week before the wedding, she made my top favorite meals for dinner every night!  And she still makes stuff for me a few times a month...I'm spoiled!

  • For like 4 years straight we bought my grandmother mugs from the pharmacy down the street that said "I love my Grandma" which of course doesn't make much sense if she is the one drinking from them.

One year I also bought her a rose in a glass ball to match one she had in the front room. Hers was actually really pretty, mine had a plastic base that was painted gold. She sat that ugly thing right next too hers, well until it started leaking.

Nowadays we fight over the last mug left.

  • I  have way too many great memories with my mom.  She's my best friend and I can't imagine my life without her :)

  • My mom is my best friend.  For her 50th Birthday I took her on an all-inclusive vacation to Mexico.  We had a blast! It was so relaxing and so fun to just spend girl time together. She still tells me that was the best vacation she ever took and she thinks about it all the time!

  • My mom is so awesome!  Now that I'm an adult and think back of my childhood (which was great) I see all the sacrifices my mom made in her own life to make life better for me and my siblings.  Her and my dad are still like that today and I am so thankful for them.

    Fourth Anniversary

Like a lot of other kids, I grew up thinking my parents were a drag.  I thought they were strict with us (they weren't), we had too many rules (we really didn't), etc.  But now as I'm older, I realize how great my mom (and dad!) were.  I really can't think of anything I disagree with them doing as parents and I really hope I can provide the same love and support for my child(ren).

  • My mom and I are so close - she is my best friend. One of my favorite memories is probably when I found my wedding dress. We had been out shopping the day before with my cousin (MOH) and grandma, and then the next day just her and I went to a store, and that's where we found my dress. It was really special because it was just the two of us, and we both knew instantly that it was "the one" :)

    This exactly.

I played  a lot of sports in high school and I honestly can say I don't think she ever missed a game.  :)  It meant a lot that she was always there for me.

  • My mom is seriously the back bone of our family. I love her so much. She raised the three of us when my dad died (they started dating when she was 15), I was 16 and my brothers were 12 and 18. a lot of people turned their back on us, and she just kept moving forward like a champ.

  • I have a ton of memories, and like most everyone else, the older I get the more I appreciate and love my mom. She is truely the best!   One of my more recent ones was the week before my due date, I had the week off and my mom spend almost the whole week with me getting everything ready for Morgan's arrival, including scrubbing my kitchen floor!!! Its was great just to spend the time with her!

  • I feel sort of like the evil daughter after reading these posts!

Yes, I love my mom, she's a great person, etc. But we are soooo different. We just moved about 2000 miles away from her last year and I know she misses us like crazy, but honestly, I am glad for the space. Don't get me wrong, there are times/moments when I miss being near my family.  And I do get bummed when DD is sad about missing her though, since they are very close.

Favorite memory wise, I remember loving that my mom would always drive/chaperone on elementary school field trips. That made me feel so cool for some reason!

    This.

I always envied my girlfriend growing up who had great relationships with thier moms.  My mother and I NEVER got along growing up.  And I really mean never.  We fought all the time.  We had a huge blow out once when I was about 16 that resulted in us not speaking to eachother for about 6 months.  No joke.

But I grew up, got married, moved out, and now we get along great.  Weird.

  • my mom was always supportive growing up....she went to all my basketball & most softball games & she was "Mom" to alot of my friends, which I loved!

My mom's mom always said to me whenever we parted: "remember, Grandma loves you!"  I still remember that, even though she's been gone 20 yrs.
