TR: Hair washing

DS hates to have his hair washed.  For quite awhile I have been covering his eyes with a washcloth.  He didn't like it but he got through it.  Now he doesn't like that either.  I thought about getting the visors, but really wonder if he would keep it on.  I try to explain that if he looks up (like at the shower head) the water will stay out of his face.  He doesn't get that yet.  I don't want bath time to be miserable.  Any unique approaches that worked on your LO's?  My MIL suggested swim goggles, but he definitely won't keep those on.

    Sophia has always loved the bath and still does, but for the last six months we have struggled with hair washing.  We have tried goggles, a visor, and a washcloth over her face.  We also have the special cup that presses up against her forehead so no water gets down.  She wears her ear plugs from the ENT as well as we thought maybe that was the problem.  We've finally just given up and she whines while getting her hair washed.  She still loves the bath and is fine before and immediately after getting her hair washed so I know its just that.  Silly thing is she has no problem in the pool with dunking under the water.

    I use a washcloth and it seems to do the trick.  I just soak it and gently squeeze over Cole's head until it is wet.  Same to rinse the shampoo out.  We still use his baby bath seat too.  After he plays in the tub we set it in there and he lays back in it so we can wash him.  Since he is leaning back it definitely helps with the water in the face.  He refuses to lean back in the tub without the seat.

    Have you tried taking a shower with him? Holding him and letting him see that mommy or daddy LOVE the shower and it's OK to let water drip on your head.

    I also have seen those things, that hook onto the spout of the faucet and it works like the shower head, that might help too, and you can 'tease' him with it, like rinse off his back/booty/front/legs, all that fun stuff. I actually need to get one! HA! El has WAY too much hair, and it's hard for her to lay back.
