PR and allergic rashes

I got this rash yesterday on the sensitive skin part of my arms (you know the part that never tans, forearms and upper arms).  Itchy and kind of hurts.  I haven't changed anything, soap, food, detergent, nothing.  I was home all day yesterday.  As today went on it nearly disappeared.  I wasn't itchy and the rash was barely visible.  I have been home for 2 hours now and its back in force.  Did anybody else ever have weird reactions like this while pregnant???  It is completely baffling me and DH especially since it was almost gone and came back when home.

Re: PR and allergic rashes

  • Could it be PUPPS?  My SIL had it and she was pretty miserable.

  • Did you eat anything different?  I once had this happen on the forearms and upper arms, and it was because I had eaten something that was spoiled.

Nope nothing different at all.  DH is wondering if the dogs didn't possibly get something on them that I am allergic to.  So he is brushing and bathing them really good tonight.  I don't have a drs appt for another 3 weeks and I feel dumb calling about something as little as this so I am trying to just figure it out on my own.

  • I ended up with PUPPS with the twins. It started out on my belly right around the bands where they monitored the babies everyday. At first the nurses thought I was allergic to the bands or the gel they used. It was just a red bumpy itchy rash that would get better in the beginning when the monitors came off but it got worse with each time they were put back on until it spread all over my belly and stayed until delivery. It was awful because nothing helped it. I think it usually only affects you in the late stages of pregnancy though. I'm hoping for your sake that it was just a slight reaction to something the dogs may have gotten cause PUPPS sucks.
