Is anyone doing anything interesting for Cinco De Mayo? We don't usually make a big deal about it, but this year my friends and I are planning on hitting up a really shady (but delicious) Mexican restaurant just outside of town and drinking Margaritas! (Nothing too crazy, because it's a Thursday...)

Grrrr...not really sure what my computer did there...I didn't even try to post that and it did it anyways!
So...what I was trying to post is that we don't really do anything on the actual day. My stepbrother has a party every year, but throws it on whatever Saturday is the closest. His party is this Saturday, and we're going. Always fun & good food!
I teach high school Spanish so it's a fun day for me. We are having parties in all my classrooms where I make quesadillas and other things that the kids bring in.
Then DH and I are leaving for Vegas that night! I figure I'll have a Corona on the plane or a few when we get there! Ole!
I used to have a party every year but no all of our friends have babies are pregnant or breastfeeding so only the men would participate. I used to do a pinata stuffed with singles and mini liquor bottles a mexican buffet spread and have sombreros for everyone complete with gaucho mustaches for picture taking.
This year H and I are going to the Tigers game on a date because we don't see each other during the week.
Everything about this party sounds like fun!!!!!!

They were a lot of fun. One year I ordered a plastic cut out for folks to stick their head in for pictures. It was a Mariachi Player and a Sinarita. It was hilarious.
