My digital scale and I are no longer friends...in a good way
When I started WW I had just gone to the Dr. the day before so I used the weight from their scale as my starting weight. Went out, bought a digital scale (I've never owned a scale before) and have been using that for the past 8 weeks to track my weight.
Well, today I went to the doctor's and they weighed me. I'm down 18 lbs. But by my digital scale I'm down 14 lbs. How can they be that far off??? Should I assume the doctor's scale (you know the big honking thing that has the sliders??) is more accurate??
I'd like it if you all said yes!!!
Re: My digital scale and I are no longer friends...in a good way
There are many factors ... when you last ate, what you last ate (high sodium foods usually make you retain water), when you last exercised, where you are in menstrual cycle, time of day, clothing, differences in scale calibration, etc.
Did you weight yourself on the digital scale when you first got it? Then you'd know whether the scales were calibrated the same way. My guess is they are not.

I hate you very much
When I first got it I weighed myself and it was 1 lb. less than the Dr. scale.
I did drink a lot (hey, it was date night) Saturday night so I wonder if when I weighed myself first thing Sunday morning that played into it.
I was just so shocked when I saw the # today. Happy shocked. I mean, hey, I'LL TAKE IT!!!!
Could be, plus it's normal for your weight to fluctuate by a few pounds. Keep up the good work!

I can honestly say if it weren't for WW I wouldn't be having this much success. I've found it very easy to stick to. I mean hell, I have a bowl of ice cream EVERY NIGHT! And I've been real bad about my exercising. And I'm STILL losing. I stick to the point allowance during the week and I let myself have a little fun (for example, date night I had 3 drinks) on the weekend within good reason. I'm so happy with how easy it is!
