Wow, I May Be a Stand Up Comedy Widow
So DH has been asked to go on a nationwide tour with a group of comics. It would be 3-4 months long! It would start in Sept and end in Dec. This would mean he would miss my birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving he would be gone, hopefully he'd be back for Christmas. It's very exciting since this could be HUGE for this career but of course I'm sad he would be gone that long. There's lots of details they're working out like making sure to stay in wheelchair accessible hotel rooms and getting the appropriate kind of van and I'm worried about him being off the Clinitron bed that he has to sleep on to prevent pressure sores. He might be off it for months, unless they do a few shows for a couple of weeks and then are home for a week and then go back out again. He said that's a possibility. Hopefully they can do it that way because if he ever got another sore in the same area again they couldn't do surgery so he could die from it. Also we're moving to who knows where yet in L.A. and I won't really know anyone because we'll have just moved there when he leaves. So lots of stuff to think about!!

Wow, lots of stuff happening at one time! The documentary some of you might remember being done on him is finally almost done and promotion for it beginning. The makers are going to enter it in film festivals and stuff. Here's the trailer:

FYI, I had a hard time hearing Drew in the trailer; the background music is way too loud.
So another update, he talked to the tour manager and they are willing to work out any kind of schedule he needs. My husband explained his medical needs and how serious things could get if he doesn't take care of things properly. The guy totally understands and says they won't do the tour without him. So that's a relief!
RNV: Yeah, the music is a little loud in the trailer esp since Drew developed ataxic dysarthria after his illness, which makes his voice sound slurred. I don't know if they've already edited that. The trailer is quite old from when they were first compiling stuff.
