.::Stees::.

To answer your question from my fingers crossed post, no we have not discussed changing my diet. I finished my antibiotics yesterday and need to call and touch base with my doctor.

Anyways, I wanted to thank you.  I didn't even think about that and now I plan on asking him about this when I talk to him.   So thanks!

Re: .::Stees::.

  • i only ask because i have a friend whose mother has something similar she was recently diagnosed with. its not quite the same, hers doesnt have anything to do with bacteria. food just shoots right through her stomach without digesting at all. they have put her on a diet that she cant have anything thats difficult to digest like meats and vegetables and nothing with fiber.

    obviously hers is a really severe case and i would hope you wouldnt need to go on a diet like that.but there may be certain foods that are better or worse for you. and i also was wondering if eating yogurt with "good bacteria" might help you.

    good luck!

  • I have been so worried that I am all of sudden going to get worse again and that the antibiotics didn't really help, that I have been living in the moment.  I guess I really wasn't thinking that this has happened a couple times and could happen again.

    I don't eat much yogurt, but that is a good idea.  I definitely could use some good bacteria!  I hope I don't have to do anything too extreme, but I guess no matter what, it will be worth it.  Thanks!

  • i think its perfectly normal for you to feel that way. even when i was "healthy" i was afraid every time i would put something in my mouth. even now, when my stomach starts to act up from a bug or something, i immediately think the worst.

    when you've gone through something so painful and traumatic with only getting a "well we ruled everything else out, so we think this is what it is" diagnosis, its hard not to worry.

    i just hope that this is the answer for you and that if it does happen again, it will be a quick fix now that they have found the culprit.

    you're welcome :)
