Charlotte Restaurant Recs

I'll be in Charlotte for a few days and I'm looking for some baby-friendly restaurant recommendations for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Basically any place that serves any kind of food except seafood or German. Oh, and no chains as I'm already familiar with those.

I haven't finalized my accommodations yet, but I'll either be near the airport or South Park mall and willing to drive 15 minutes away.

Re: Charlotte Restaurant Recs

  • We love the Open Kitchen (pizza, pasta) 1318 West Morehead Street
    Charlotte (704) 375-7449

Also downtown (if you want to do that, sometimes hard to find parking) is the Rock Bottom Bewery, and Nick & Nates.

  • I always recommend 131 Main. It's our favorite.

  • Eddie's Place is in the area you mentioned and they have great food and definitely family friendly, laid back kind of place.  It's sort of small so it can get busy!   They have a GREAT brunch too.
  • Big Daddy's Burger Bar, Brixx (pizza) are both in Dilworth.  Terrace Cafe in Southpark (great for breakfast).  Mellow Mushroom near Southpark.  I'd definitely choose to stay in Southpark over the airport area.  The area by the airport isn't great, and not lots of restaurants.
  • Big Daddy's On East Blvd in Dilworth, Cantina (Mexican) on East Blvd in Charlotte, Cowfish (they have great burgers, salads, shakes, etc if you do not want sushi), Revolution in NoDa (fab pizza), Mello Mushroom on Selwyn Ave near Southpark.
  • Hi! I write a food blog in Charlotte - you may want to browse around for some ideas.

Southpark has some great restaurants. Terrace Cafe, Bricktops and Cafe Monte are all great.
