AW: Finished afghan/ pillows! PIP

Well after 4 solid months of crocheting, I finally finished the afghan and matching pillows that we're sending to DH's friend and his family for Christmas. I picked out the colors, followed the instructions off this youtube video and used a little artistic design to modify the pattern a little. I did the pillow idea myself, using a pre-made pillow from WalMart and just stitching two blocks of the crocheted fabric together like I did the squares on the afghan.

Whew! I got it in a box and everything already. I'm done that for now and will be working on some other knitting projects but I had a great time and experience doing this project. I highly recommend watching the video series if you want to learn how to crochet, another good resource is the Lion Brand Yarn Video Library

  • Aw that is so pretty! I am being lazy with my baby blanket project. I am about 1/4 of the way done and I haven't touched it in a couple weeks. I think I might just wait until we find out the sex of the baby next week and start on a new blanket that is different shades of pink or blue Smile

  • Thanks ladies! It's quite amazing to make all those squares and then after assembling it and saying "I made THAT?!" with some disbelief just because its so big. It helped that thru most of it I was reading the Harry Potter books (used a book stand) and could do it without looking much.

Paula you'll have to share your pics when you're finished! Or a pattern now :-)

I'm very impressed with both. I don't have the kind of patience required to do that kind of work. I know who I want to have my name for Christmas next year. Wink
