Attn North NJ ladies- help needed

I was hoping someone would be able to help with a lead or two for my BFF who will need a job this fall in the education field. Her BF got a sweet a$$ job and they are going to move in together then. His job is based in the Edison area, but they are hoping to live in the Hoboken area.

She has a degree in Elementary ed from UDel and a focus/ minor in special ed. She is amazing with kids and has lots of experience from babysitting as her main source of income up until recently when she worked in a daycare and now subbing and tutoring. If you have any connections that may be able to help please let me know. And if you have any suggestions for apartments/ areas too I'm sure she would find it useful! Thanks for any suggestions you can give.

Re: Attn North NJ ladies- help needed

  • Tell her to check njschooljobs.com and njhire.com - those are the sites that were most helpful to me when I was looking for jobs in NJ public schools.

  • Ditto Alli! Those are great websites. I don't think my mom's district is hiring but if I hear anything I will let you know! I live kinda far from Hoboken because its SO expensive if they want to know more about the burbs let me know! :)
  • I'm not much help with the job search, although I know from my sister and friends who are teachers that teaching positions are harder to come by in NJ, since a lot of districts have had layoffs in the past year. But, if they need any assistance with looking for places around Hoboken, I can certainly point out some good areas. Even though Hoboken is small, there are definitely some better neighborhoods to live in than others.

  • Ali thanks so much for the sites, she had not looked at them so she was very appreciative of the resource!

Laur and Lori, she said where they live will depend on where she gets a job, since her BFs job is a travelling/ regional position for north NJ. She's not quite ready for the location info yet but is happy for any info you can give.

Laur would your mom have any suggestions on job searching? She's willing to sub too if needed and she's already certified for NJ.

You ladies are awesome, thank you SO much for your help and if I come visit her when she gets her new place we should meet up somewhere! :-)
