I am going to New Orleans next week with my husband for four days. This will be my fifth trip, but my first where I'd like to do things other than drink heavily and hook up with cute guys
, as the four other times I went I was under 24 -for Mardi Gras 3x and NYE once. My husband has never been.
We are going to Jazz Fest and I've signed up for a couple tours, but is there anything I must do while here? TIA!
Re: What to do in NOLA?
Take a ride on the street car down the garden district and tour the beautiful old mansions on St Charles Avenue... And have dinner at Jacquimo's on Oak street. Check out the new bar called Oak, also on Oak street. Also, try to have brunch at Commander's palace, also in the Uptown area (you will need to take the street car here.) A life jazz band plays there and takes music requests--it's pretty cool. Have a bloody mary or mimosa while you're there!... Carriage ride through the quarter and you'll learn about all the history of this great place. Also, you've got to try some boiled crawfish!.. yum!
Have fun
