Guess who's moving to NorCal for 8 months?!
ME!!
C is deploying this summer and I've decided to come back home to SJ for that time. I'm going to be taking classes (including one that includes a tropical ecology research trip to Costa Rica!!), maybe find somewhere to volunteer, take a few road trips, spend time with my friends and family, and (of course) hang out with Nesties! I'm really excited. Not looking forward at all to being separated from C for so long, but at least there's a lot to look forward to during that time (for both of us- his deployment sounds like it's going to be pretty awesome).
Now wish me luck living at my Mom's house for 8 months... oh boy!

whoo hoo!! I am excited!! We can go to the Farmer's Market in Santa Clara or Campbell too.
Feel free to crash on our couch...it may be a small place or you may wake up with a feline on you but the door is always open :-)
Well... I suppose "awesome" was too strong a word considering it's still a deployment that'll have plenty of stresses. I'm not sure what I can and can't post publicly about it, but he won't be in an active war zone and in the grand scheme of things he's thinking it's going to prove to be an interesting experience.

Yay! I'm glad you found something that will work for you guys. I'm sorry that C is being deployed, but I am glad that you get to come home for a while! And it sounds like you have some really exciting things lined up!
And, of course, we have a spare bedroom, so you are always welome here. Huz might have to do more overnight trainings so we could totally do some sleepover/ girls nights if you're up for it! My house is your house!
