25 B-day ideas?

A buddy?s 25 birthday is coming up.  I want to have a party for her this Friday (yeah, yeah I know should have done this earlier).  Any suggestions on what to do to make it more special than any other night we go out?

She goes out to bars most weekends.    In order of preference, she likes to go to Downtown Minneapolis (Brothers, 508?.), Uptown (Drink, Peanut Bar?), Grand (Onion, Billys?.).  She likes to go to places that have games; she sometimes dances, but likes to hang out at a table and chat.  She likes ?non-scary bars? (in regards to people who frequent it), she thinks of Drink in Minneapolis as kind of a scary bar ? she says she always gets grouped by sleazy looking guys.  We used to love to go to Game Works.

I will likely be bank rolling any of the non-individual expenses  that went into this party (limo, hotel, party room fees) so I want to limit those kinds of things.  I can ask people to pitch in, but most never do.  I would not want to spend more than $300 on this, less if possible.

I was thinking maybe starting at Seven and reserving one of the couch areas (if available) or reserving a table at Shout.  From both of those places we can go to other places.

Other ideas?  Any places that have nice birthday party perks (skip the line, special seating?..)

Re: 25 B-day ideas?

  • If she likes downtown, then I would definitely go to Shout House
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Love the Shout House.  My brother just planned a birthday party for his wife at Psycho Suzies Motor Lounge (turning 26)...I've never been there, but it looks like a lot of fun and I've heard great things.

  • We actually play kick ball by Psycho Suzies....it is a cool place, but we go alot.

I wanted to get a birthday table at Shout but everyone had to be there by 7:00 and it is $20/person so I think we will just try our luck at getting a table later that night.  Not sure when it gets full on Fridays so maybe it would be fine to go at 8:30 or so.
