Effective ~60 days from now (due to the volume of ppl cut, they had to give notice)
So, anyone know of any research jobs? Qualitative or quantitative.
DS just started daycare Monday and I found out yesterday. Not quite the back to work adjustment I was hoping for!
Re: I'm getting laid off. :(
Oh that sucks! I'm sorry I don't have any leads on jobs.

OMG! What sucky timing! At least you got 60 days to work everything out. I was once given 24 hours.
Given that I'm in public education, I'm no help at all with the job front. Things are equally scary here.
I know you are in the Augusta area- but USM is hiring

Sorry to hear about your job! I hope you find something soon!
I'm actually in Portland.
Thanks - I am checking out the USM posting.
I work for the state so I am no help!
So sorry about your situation. I hope it turns out to be better though...sometimes that happens!
I'll keep my ears open too- i tend to hear about research jobs in the area. Why did I think you were in Augusta :c)
Ugh, that sucks. Hope you find something soon.
I'm glad Kristy posted the USM job; I was going to recommend that you check out higher ed institutions near you -- I usually see research jobs at colleges. (Too bad you're not down here; Harvard is always hiring researchers!)
I was once laid off at 2 pm, effective at close of business. Spent the rest of the day transferring projects over to my co-workers and cleaning out my desk, then left a half hour early to go to a bar and drink with all my other laid-off co-workers.
My shift ended at 4:00 - I was called into the office at 3:59 (on Friday) and told that I shouldn't come in again, they were eliminating my position. I just had to abandon all my work where it stood.
That stinks Jaylea. I don't really know how to find leads in your field, but I hope that 60 days will be enough to find something promising. Here's to new opportunities.
