What are you getting your mom?
MIL?
Step-mom?
Grandma?
Whoever!
Re: Mother's Day poll
What are you getting your mom? Garden Plants (or a gift card so she can pick out her own)
MIL? Not sure. Clothes and possibly some veggie plants.
Step-mom? n/a
Grandma? Nothing. Is that bad?
Whoever!
I'm heading to a nursery tonight for a tree, so I guess I will just pick up some flowers for my mom to plant for Mother's Day.
I think for my MIL and step-mom, I will just buy a card. That's it for my plans.
My dad's side of the family is throwing me a shower in Chicago the Saturday before mother's day. So on Sunday we are taking my Mom and Grandma out to brunch.
I think for my MIL we will just get her a gift card to Lowes or HD or something. She plans to do a lot of work in her yard this summer, I wanted to get her a plant but I didn't know what her plans were for the yard.
My mom: We're making her dinner on Sunday and I'm paying her entry fee for a dog walk event that we'll walk together in a few weeks.
MIL: Don't know yet - I've been pestering Andy to decide something. :-)
I struggle with this every year. I always know what my mom wants but I always try to do something special from the kids.
For my mom, I got her vintage 40's star paper dolls. She collects those and Maria loves to look through them with her.
For my MIL, who knows. DH is in charge so it will be last minute of course.
This year I just did a collage of pictures on notecards of the kids and am giving them to all of the moms. I figure you could always use a notecard for this and that so why not show off your grandchildren/godchildren. I am stealing a few from each lot for myself too.
In the past, I've done an ABC photobook (a letter to represent each picture) and notecards that have their artwork on them. I am not a good craft person so I've never initiated anything the kids would make themselves. I need to get better at that.
What are you getting your mom? - A farmer's market tote/basket.
MIL? - A necklace.
Step-mom? - n/a
Grandma? - nothing.
