What are you planning with your mom/mil this weekend?
Do you get your mom/mil a gift?
If you are a mom, do you have anything planned for you?
Re: Mother's Day
we are celebrating mom's day this friday (nephew has a double header on sunday.... i know...who the hell plans a ballgame on mom's day!) and we'll probably see my mil on sunday.
i'll end up getting my mom either a gc or flowers. my mil...probably flowers and a card.
I'm having lunch with my mom on Saturday at PF Changs, and I am sure once we are done, we will do a little retail therapy. We might swing by the cemetary too. I know this mother's day might be a little hard on her since it is the first since my g-ma passed.
As far as MIL, I have no clue what we are doing. Her birthday is Monday as well.
I asked B if I had any plans on Sunday and he said he thought B2 was taking me out to dinner.
Kris, one of the girls at work told me her daughter has a soccer game on Mother's day.
Saturday DH is having dinner with his family and I will be there at some point, but I am going shopping with a friend in the afternoon so I might miss the first part of dinner.
Sunday my friend is having her sons birthday party so we are going to that. Afterwards my mom and I might take my grandma dinner.
I haven't spoken to my mom yet about what she wants, but she always wants something practical. For her birthday I took her shopping for a pair of jeans.
DH said we will probably just get MIL some flowers, IMO, it won't be enough.
DH and I were talking last night about how this could be my last mother's day as a non-mother, we plan on starting TTC early next year so if we are really lucky I could be KU next mother's day! DH was getting really excited talking about that.
I have NO clue. *sigh*
BIL was trying to tell us yesterday that we're going to Nagoya on Sunday night, and that we'd be responsible for 1/2 of MIL/FIL's dinner, plus to pitch in like $40 toward a gift (we don't even know what) for her and we had to say no. How much money does he think we have?!?! lol!! We said we'd be happy to go to a more reasonably priced restaurant and I think we'll choose a gift ourselves, hah.
As for my mom, I am sure we'll visit, and maybe do brunch. And I'm trying to see if I can get her signed up for a fused glass class because she did one in the past and really loved it.
I'm not sure what our plans are. We don't have a lot of money right now(darn responsibilites) but I want to get my mom a charm for her pandora bracelet. Other than that, we will probably get together for dinner or something. I'm hoping it will be a low key weekend because with TJ still not feeling well, its been a long week!
On a side note: I'm kind of hoping that DH will get up with TJ that morning to let me sleep in and then make me breakfast.....but I doubt that will happen. Don't get me wrong, I love my morning time with TJ, but I need a day to sleep in!!

We are going to the zoo on mothers day with my mom (we've been doing this every year since Addie). I'm going to get her this cute Grandma picture frame I saw at Meijer and put a pic of her and the kids in it.
For me we will start out at church where they have a muffin breakfast planned for moms and kids : ) then the zoo, then Joe is going to grill out for me and then we have our small group later that night. A busy day but it will be nice!
