So yeah just finished it this morning - yes I watch movies in pieces between nursing Genna in the wee hours of the morning. Can someone explain it to me? I mean yeah it was weird but I dunno I didn't think it was THAT great. Was she (Nina/Natalie Portman) just crazy, is that it? Was the story supposed to be following the story of Swan Lake? I don't get it. I mean, other than her being like just wack, of course. Is my sleep deprevation affecting my ability to understand amazing Oscar worthy complex movies? :-P
Re: Black Swan *spoilers*
First weight loss goal - 40lbs... DONE! Second weight loss goal - 17lbs...
Short version: she's a paranoid schitzophrenic.
I think the intention was to mimic Swan Lake in a modern way. In the ballet, the black swan is the swan queen's evil twin, who steals the prince away. Some have always interpreted it as the swan queen having 2 sides, or a split personality.. and the darker side got stronger. Same thing happened in the movie version.
Basically, 1/2 the movie didn't happen.
