Re: Yay! Got my Kindle today...book recs

  • Water for Elephants was the first book I read on my kindle :) It's super cheap, so if you haven't read it, check it out! If you haven't read the Hunger Games series yet, it is an absolute must!

The Nest Book Club forum is incredibly helpful. There are tons of great recs on that page, but other books I have read recently and really enjoyed:

    - Anna and the French Kiss

    - Steig Larson series (on the 3rd one now)

    - The Book Thief

    - Firefly Lane (LOVED this book... I read it last summer, but it was very touching! I don't normally like books like that either).

    - The Cellist of Sarajevo (one of my favorite books of all time. Beautiful).

    - The Help - another favorite book of all time.

Don't forget you can download samples of books for the kindle. It's pretty amazing!

    Are you on Goodreads??

  • I am not on Goodreads.  I was looking into it one time since I have seen it on so many of your siggy's but never got a chance to register or anything.

I just found out that my MIL has Water for Elephants in an actual book, so I figure I can read that one.  I was thinking about downloading The Help because I remember you ladies talking about it a lot.  Decisions, decisions....

  • I second the Hunger Games Series. Soooo good.

    Anna and the French Kiss

OUTLANDER! The whole entire series is beyond amazing! I'm sad I'm done with all the books that are out.

    Water for Elephants was good.

Always the Baker Never the Bride was a cute quick read.

    All the classics are free

I have heard really good things about Devil in the White City. I started it once and got distracted by having a baby and haven't picked it back up though.

Here is the link for the top 100 Paid and free books. I check it almost daily.

also Lendle.me.com is a place where you can lend and borrow books. I'm borrowing my first now. (The Book Thief)

  • Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.  Loved this book!

I just started reading The Hunger Games.  I think it's slightly weird so far but have heard amazing things about it.
