Women Committee at work

Do you have a women committee at work?  We have one at work but it seems like it's dying because of lack of support.  They do provide mentoring, help on new working moms (like adjusting, breastfeeding), networking, etc.

If you do have one at work, what do you all do?  How do you promote it?  What activities do you do?  What are the goals?

Re: Women Committee at work

  • I must be honest, I've never heard of that.  Although my current job has no reason to have one as 3 out of the 4 people in our office are women.

  • I work in a large university and we have an organization like that, its called Women's Network.

They will have quarterly events that are open to full time faculty and staff.  They have Brown Bag sessions that have speakers and workshops.  They also have 1 yearly half day retreat that goes into more detail.  Some events show case women within the university and others show case women in general.  They will also have a cocktail hour just to let you meet others and chat and possibly network.

We do have a very very large staff so most events are strongly attended.
