Hola ladies!!! + AW-ishness + eyelash pics

I've been AWOL.   I've been popping in to read posts cause I can hit that up in the car.  Not so easy to reply.

I have been travelling around and just working my ass off in general the past few weeks.

Glad to see everyone is still alive and doing well.

I did find time to finally do my eyelashes.

They look AMAZING (I think).  I htink they look natural.

Great right?  sure...cept now my left eye is all jacked up. hahha.  I think I must have accidentally opened it a little while the girl was putting them on. My eye looked fine that night.  It was the next morning I started having problems. It's been two days and it's still VERY bloodshot and sore.  I'm trying to decide if this means I won't do it again.  I know...I have issues. hahah

  • LOVE the lashes!! That happened to my bestie the first time she got hers put on. The eye pad underneath crept in her eye. The lady said not to wear makeup if possible but my friend wore some power on her face so the pad didn't stick to great and moved into her eye. The redness went away in about 4 days. Very natrual looking,  I always get the drag queen lashes. LOL

  • je...my first thought when I saw the finished version was "I need MAWR!!!"

can you post pics of yours?  I like that mine look completely natural, but I wonder if I shouldn't get a more dramatic look.

  • I don't have any recent ones. But I found one from the wedding thats really a good pic of them but I can't upload it until I get home tonight because it's on my dig camera and i'm at work.

I have none on right now because H didn't want to keep paying for the fills so I dont get another set put on until BIL's wedding (may 21st). My last few fell off and I was so sad. haha

They look hot!  These are extensions or something?  I've never heard of this, and a little embarrassed to admit that.

  • HotT! I want.

Did you get it done in Philly?

  • mushe - they are semi permanent lashes.  They glue a single fake lash onto each of your real ones.  They last for up to 2 months and you can go swimming etc in them.  You have to get regular refills to keep up with them.  They fall out as your normal lashes shed.

je - yeah..they are a little pricey.  I didn't do my homework well enough before.  I thought I could get by on around $40 a month.  It's going to be more than that though :(

Steph - I got them in Langhorne.  I imagine, there MUST be someone in the city that does it though.

  • Shut the front door. I grew up in Langhorne. My parents live there now. Where?

Can you do it once to test it, and if you don't like it, just let them fall out like normal lashes? Do you wear mascara on those bad boys or it's not necessary?

Alicia, please answer ALL of these questions, as I'm wondering too! :)  I have the teeniest, tiniest, BLONDE lashes and am in desperate need of some...

  • Im going to answer Stephs questions because I wanna :-)

When they fall out they will fall out in weird patterns and sometimes clumps. I ended up pulling mine out because I didn't want them anymore and I looked like I only had lashes in some parts. beware. I wore mascara on mine because I loved how dramatic and hookerish they looked (flame away). But it's definitly not necessary.

  • Fake it til you make it biotech!:o)

  • Thanks Jessie!

Wow those b*tches are expensive! $200 initially? I need to do some more googling.

  • Mine were 75 original and 40 for fills.
  • Thanks for covering for me Jess!

Steph...I used Viva la lashes.  They just moved to a new location on Pine Street.

You can check out her website at vivalalashes.com.  There's some decent info on there.

Do a search for nova lashes in Philly if you want to find someone closer I think.

Jess would definitely be a better authority on me as far as falling out goes.  This is my first time.

The girl that did mine said you can use mascara (no water resistant kinds) if you want.  I haven't felt the need to use it so far, but I might this weekend when I go dancing :)
