Talk about a let down...

So I was super stoked to celebrate my anniversary yesterday since H and I have been doing really good and I have been really happy and it turned out to be such a huge let down and I almost even cried at dinner.

1.  I had to make the dinner reservations... no biggie but I asked him if he would make them and didn't
2.  Dinner reservations were at 7:30 and we had to leave by 7:15... he was scheduled to work till 6 and came strolling in around 7 so we were rushed and late
3.  He didn't even get me a flippin card... said he forgot
4.  He wasn't going to eat at the restaurant and when he saw how upset I was he ended up ordering something and then complained about it the whole time

Ughhh.... I could seriously cry... I guess I set my expectations way too high for the night :-(  It probably also didn't help that one of my damn dogs ate a pair of very expensive heels right before we left for dinner either... what a shiity night !

  • Oh hun, I'm so sorry.

I'm not really sure what more to say.  I wish I could snap my fingers and things could be great for you guys.

  • if it makes you feel any better, our anniversary wasnt great either.. he spent a few hours helping my dad and brother put Rowan's new swing set up and then we spent another few hours putting Rowan's crib in Carsons room in preperation for the delivery of Ro's new bed.. we are going to do dinner and a movie on friday.. i guess not every year can be "magical and romantic" so ill chalk this one up to that:)!

Sorry it wasnt great, go drink a margarita for the both of us:)

  • Aw, I'm sorry! Big days are sometimes too much pressure to be awesome. If yall are doing great otherwise I'd try to focus on that and keep the positive engery going. I know you can't just forget about it, but maybe just think about it as one bad day in the middle of some good!

...and I'm very sorry about your shoe!

  • I'm sorry.  That really sucks.  You should be able to have high expectations for nights like that.  I hope he makes up for it.
  • i'm sorry :( are you guys still doing counseling at all?

i totally understand about the dog thing. i'm at a total loss with my dog. he has totally been a BIOTCH since we had Bennett and pees on EVERYTHING. we will take him out and he will pee like 15 times out there and come back in and wihtin 10 mins pee on something. yesterday it was my coach diaper bag. grrrr. i really an nervous about taking him with us to the new house. i feel horrible, but i cant have him ruining the entire house! we are constantly taking him out and he's constantly having "accidents" (i use quotes bc i think he does them on purpose).

    :(

I saw your post on FB about the dog eating your shoes again!! I'm so glad Raven never went through the "I'm a lab therefore Il eat everything in the house" phase!! Guess the Weimeraner in her won out!

  • why the heck didn't he want to even order anything at dinner? who the heck goes to dinner but doesn't eat? that is freaking annoying. I wish I could fix him for you. How is counseling going?

bucks, I think Riley needs puppy prozac.

  • Usually he doesn't eat because of his stomach issues but last night he said it was because he didn't want to order a $30 steak in fear he wouldn't like it cause he is a super picky eater.  I was like IT IS STEAK FOR THE LOVE OF GOD lol.  He was back and forth with not ordering anything and I even asked him to pretend to eat the flat bread I ordered so I didn't feel like I was eating alone :-  When it came time to order he did end up ordering it and only ate the steak and he got wings on the way home.

Counseling was going good... I say was because he doesn't think he has any reason to go anymore.  I'm going tomorrow alone for a good venting session... can't flippin wait !
