Mother's Day Gifts
Do you buy for your mom? If so what are you getting?
I believe I'll be getting my mom and stepmom nail polish, file, hand lotion, and lip balm with SPF. And some flowers.
Right now I'd like to get my MIL a bag of flaming poop, but instead I'm giving her a nice bracelet that I won at a fashion show but is more her taste than mine.

MIL's birthday was the week before, so we got her a combo gift. H of course had no idea, but I had the idea to get her a gift certificate to a flower farm, and she loved it. Yay!
For my mom, she always says she only wants 'a card that tells me how much you love me.' Gag. Anyway, she bought one of those Pandora charm bracelets which, while I'm not a fan, she likes. So I think we'll get her a charm for that.
Steph - I'm with you in wanting to get my MIL some flaming poop. That sounds perfect. However, we got her a card last night. I'm not doing anything else. She'll carry that damn card around all year and show it off and considering we got her a ring last year and she never wears it (this woman loves rings and it was perfect for her) and Jeremy said just do a card, well, that's all we're doing.
My mom wants some baking thing from pampered chef so my sisters and I are all going in to get that for her.
I got my mom two outfits, something from Partylite (had $300 in credit), a card and might do flowers.
Richard so far got his mom a card. If he wants to give her something else, he's going to have to buy it. I know it's Mother's Day and all but when his mom doesn't call to see how he's doing it's kinda hard to want to give her something. Also, it's still hard for him that she abandoned him as a baby.
I also got two of our BM's jewelry from Kohls, my aunt jewelry from Kohls, and my other aunt a cute blouse. They are also getting partylite stuff.
Flaming poop? You mean like the brown paper bag, setting it on fire, ringing the doorbell and running away as fast as you can?
For my mom we got a new set of pots and pans. She bought us a set a couple years ago, but had never had a good matching set herself so we took Mother's Day as an opportunity for that since she does so much for us.
MIL...no idea. I am leaving this up to DH 100%, even if it means he forgets about it. I know that sounds horrible, but she mostly just puts tension between us because of how she acts.
We take my mom out for brunch for Mothers Day but we don't do it until June to avoid the crowds (and jacked up prices). We started it before I met K but everyone enjoys it so much we've continued it every year. Her birthday also falls on Mothers Day this year, so I'm headed out to get both cards for her in a few minutes. I might send her flowers at work on Monday too.
DH is responsible for his own mom. (Which means she's lucky to get a card).
I haven't asked for anything for myself for Mothers Day. Not having to see his mom would be the best present but I don't think I'm that lucky.
i will be getting my mom a gift certificate to a local gardening store--she loves getting plants for spring. for MIL we will be getting her a gift card to borders since she lovesss to read.
we were planning to take them both out to brunch on sunday but i forgot i will be out of town for work

This year I will buy my mom a gift and DH will buy his mom a gift and the cards will read from both of us. MIL is impossible to shop for (she's well off and very picky). So good luck to DH!
I got my mom a Kindle. Just ordered the cheapest one on amazon. She's been hemming and hawing about getting one (she loves physical books and loves to share). But I'll get her the low end model (with the ads to make it even cheaper!) to see what she thinks. We're also getting pedis together on Saturday.
I keep reading flaming poop as FLAMINGO poop and I'm like "why such a specific kind of poop? does everyone live around flamingos or something?"

I just went to my favorite little emporium and got essie nail polish, nail files, nail polish remover, and lip blam with spf for little mother's day gifts for my mom, Carol and a$$holeface.

I actually like to drink my way through Mothers Day's, this year IDK what I will do since I can't drink. I am hoping that next year when blueberry is here Mother's Day will be enjoyable again.
Backstory, I think I mentioned it the other day in a good morning thread. I lost my mom actually 4 years ago this coming Friday and it's so close to mothers days it's just still kinda hard. Especially this year since they are only 1 day apart and I'm just really missing her with so much that has changed/ is changing in my life.
Greg usually figures out with his mom. IDK what we will do we should do something since she has really done alot for us lately.

I was feeling all sorry for myself cause I haven't seen my mom on mother's day in probably 15 years. She lives in Tobago.

FIL's mom passed on Mother's Day, so it's always a bittersweet holiday in their house. Hugs to you xtine!
Thanks for making this post, Steph - I totally forgot to send my mom flowers. That's my usual gift. I have it in my shopping cart now, but I'm waiting for Jeff to let me know if I should get something for his mom too, since they're running a 'buy two, get $15 off' special.

I am very lucky to have the best MIL though. I love her like she is my mom and she treats me as I am her daughter not the dreaded DIL.
