My purse was stolen Thursday night. As in, it was sitting at my feet and 2 punks grabbed it and ran. With three other guys at the table with me. Yea... ballsy. Thanks to quick work by my friends who were with me, my BF who showed up 60 seconds later and went into full cop mode, and BRPD (including Nikki's amazing H), the punks were apprehended, arrested, and some of my property was found on them. Boo-yah!
Then today I got a phone call that someone found my purse out at LSU! AWESOME! Even better - everything was left in tact. Everything. Apparently the boys grabbed the electronics from my purse (phone, ipod, camera) and left the rest alone. I even had one dollar in my wallet. Morons.
So I was just elated that I had my purse back because I have been terrified with my address and keys floating somewhere for anyone to find.
THEN! I talked to the Assistant District Attorney assigned to the case today. Those punks are still in juvenile detention and he plans to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. I told him that I will help out in any and every way that I can and I want to be completely involved.
I am over the moon tonight. So excited and SO empowered.

Bottom line: It pays to know people, but crime does not.
Re: Don't mess with this girl!
They effed with the wrong girl!
I'm glad they are being prosecuted for it! I have had some students with sticky fingers, and they seem to just get a slap on the wrist.
