Mariah Carey announces baby names.
"The couple finally revealed their babies' names on Carey's blog (via Us Magazine). Their baby girl is named Monroe Cannon after Marilyn Monroe -- Carey's icon of inspiration.
Monroe's brother will go by Moroccan Scott Cannon. The top floor of
Carey's New York City apartment is called the 'Moroccan Room' due to
it's North African aesthetic. The luxurious space is also where Cannon
proposed to Carey in 2008. Cannon's son also shares the same middle
name, Scott, as his actor dad."

Re: Mariah Carey announces baby names.
OMG i was going to post this too! AWFUL!!! Monroe is better than Moroccan but still totally LAME.
i heard that Moroccan was given a middle name, but since Mariah doesn't have a middle name, Monroe wasn't.
You name your kids after you pent house suite?!?! Really?? I really dislike Moroccan.
I'm not crazy over Monroe either but at least the reasoning is better. I think it sounds boyish.
I don't mind Monroe, but think it's more of a boy's name. Moroccan sucks...Morocco might have made more sense.
I don't mind the middle name thing, but I hate that they named their kids after a room and a dead lady.
when i think of monroe for a boy this is all i can think of:
Ok, this is way before my time...what is this??
In my mind I keep thinking Morocco instead of Moroccan.
I hear "Moroccan" and I think of belly-dancers and big, red pillows on the floor.. totally not a person's name. And Monroe sounds perfect for a male cat, not a female human.
And Kelli was fretting about Jackson! At least it sounds like a human name
I'm actually surprised she didn't go more "far out". Monroe doesn't bother me at all - in fact I'm surprised there are no more girls named that considering people love to name kids after celebrities.
Moroccan is really hard to say and it's just really strange. Maybe they'll call him Mo.
