Hoo, boy.
A friend posted a link to something called "How Too Let Our Children Be Our Teachers" on FB this morning. I commented (laughing), "Hey, if our kids don't know the different between to and too, maybe they shouldn't be our teachers!" She then wrote that she'd been up all night with the baby, and had made the typo herself.
Ouch.
Then a blogger tweeted about the tough time they were having sleep training their kid. I sent them a link to the (funny, poignant) episode of Mad About You where Paul and Jamie sleep train Mabel. She tweeted back that it made her feel even worse.
Yuck.
Finally, co-workers in a meeting were commenting about how much we'd miss one of our colleagues, who had just moved out of the building (but not off our team). I (jokingly) said, "Oh, she's like a bad penny ... she'll always turn up!" while smiling and tapping the colleague in question on the arm. She looked horrified, and said, "Well, if THAT'S how you feel!"
Ick.
So somehow I am a massive jerk today without intending to be. I've decided to take a 12-hour break from all posts/comments/etc., to figure out how to be a nicer person.

Ditto. Don't sweat it!
I have definitely had unintentional jerk days so I feel you!
I still feel really bad about one particular comment I made a few years back. eek. Live and learn though!
