WDM/Clive/Urbandale Hotels

We're in need of hotel rec's in the WDM area for Memorial Day-we have a bunch of family coming up to meet Chance, and not enough room for them all.  Our house is near West Glen/Jordan Creek, so if we can find something near there, or at least easy to get here from the hotel without driving too far, that'd be great!  And under $100 a night is a super plus.  Just needs to be a decent place to sleep, nothing too fancy, but must have a pool.

  • My aunt has stayed at the Drury Inn & said she liked it.

  • Under $100 should be easy to do at most 'normal' WDM hotels.

Drury is nice.  So is the Marriot.  It's beautiful.  AND they have a shuttle that may or may not help you out ;) Most shuttles will take you anywhere if you're a guest.  Check into that.

  • If you aren't picky about the specific hotel, we always use hotwire for the best rates in a general area. I plugged in "west des moines" and the dates sat-mon of memorial day weekend, and got some good prices. The first one looked like a good hotel (w/ pool) for only $50ish.  I find that you can get some great deals if you just know you want a certain level of hotel in a general area of town, but aren't picky on the name.

    maybe this link will work?

Since I live in Omaha, but work in DSM, I've stayed at tons of hotels in WDM.  Some of my favorites are the Fairfield and Candlewood (beds are sooooooo comfortable).  The Hampton Inn and Springhill Suites are okay, too.  A lot of my co-workers like the Staybridge Suites, but I've never stayed there.

The Courtyard is the only place I won't stay, but I don't think they're under $100 anyway.

The Marriott and the Sheraton are super nice, but pretty pricey.
