Clothing Poll

Do you have clothes that are a smaller size than you actually are (like more than one size) still around in your closet in hopes that you'll fit into them again?

I was a size zero in high school/college and am so not anymore.  I still have one pair of zeros in our spare bedroom closet.  I don't know why because I doubt I'll eve be a zero again - maybe a sick hope that I'll be able to squeeze into them again.  haha!

Re: Clothing Poll

  • I just went thru my entire closet and everything... I decided only to keep 1 or 2 items I LOVE that are just a tiny tiny bit too small because I am currently trying to lose a little weight.

I wasn't being realistic before and keeping all my tiny clothes from high school.  I am a woman now... almost 30.  There is no reason to keep my high school $hit.

  • Yes :(  I still have clothes from highschool too.  I was like a size 3 and thought I was fat.  Stupid stupid teenager.

Before we move into the new house I'm going to have dh go through all of my clothes and get rid of stuff he hasnt seen me in.  I dont even know whats in there and probably wont miss it since I wear the same shirts/sweaters over and over.

  • No...but I've pretty much worn the same size since high school.  Well, with the exception of maternity clothing.  I don't like hanging on to stuff and I always get rid of something if I haven't worn it in 6 months-1year.

  • I have a bin of clothes that I hope to fit into one day. It's more depressing than anything.  I was the smallest I've ever been when I met my DH, I pray I'll be that size again.  I just need to get motivated to work out and not eat crappy food.

  • Yes, but only jeans. I hate jeans shopping as it's so hard for me to find a decent pair that fit well.

I have at least 10 pair that are 2 sizes too small.

  • Not too much (I did a lot of purging when I moved) mostly I have an issue getting rid of my old 'club clothes'. I know that I would look nuts in some of that stuff now but it's so hard to part with.

  • I do hav a couple shirts that I just can't seem to part with.  Other than that, no.  I actually have a few pairs of jeans that are too big. I need to get rid of them.  Not that I have lost weight, I just wasn't buying the right jeans.

My closet problem is more that I have a ton of stuff I never wear but can seem to get rid of. I need to get rid of this crap.

  • I go through my clothes about 2x a year and I will hold onto stuff that is just a size too small in the hopes that I can squeeze my butt into them again.  Anything smaller I have given up hope on fitting into again.

  • I got rid of a lot of my tops that were too small before we moved back to MI but I didn't get rid of any of the too-small jeans (except the ugly ones)... I don't know why b/c they're never going to fit again, I can barely get them over my thighs let alone over my hips. I have probably 10-15 pairs that are just hanging there that don't fit anymore but I can't part w/ them b/c they are so cute, and some of them were $$$!! :(
  • I was a double zero in the beginning of high school and then graduated to a zero/one (depends on the store).  I have been a zero/one since my senior year.  And now that my hips went back to their original shape, I am finally back in all of my clothes again.  I didn't keep the double zeros around, because I don't want to be that small again.

  • I only have a couple things that are a smaller size.  The only stuff I have from high school, though, are t-shirts and sweatshirts that have always fit.
  • This is totally me with clothes, i really need to purge a lot of stuff... in college i was a 6  (im 5'10) - i remember thinking then i needed to be smaller.

On Pinterest I found the most perfect sign...

  • This has just become a problem for me. But I've had a TON of clothes that I don't wear. In preparing to sell the house I did go through a bunch of it and donate it but don't be fooled. I could give up a LOT more. The thing is that then I feel like I won't have anything left - if I get rid of all the stuff that either doesn't fit or that I don't wear. But logically I know that those things are just taking up space.  Ugh.
  • I've pretty much been the same size since high school, although, I don't have anything left from HS in my closet.  I have a couple pairs of jeans that are from some skinnier days in college, that I refuse to get rid of yet, but I realize they most likely will never fit again.  I actually just did some post-baby shopping, but it was mostly because I needed to update some items.  I got rid of a bunch of jeans and bought two pairs of matchsticks from jcrew and a pair of long and leans from Gap.
  • Yes, I for sure do. I just cant part with certain things in my closet. Someday, I hope I will because there is no way I will ever be in a size 0 again and its just taking up space.

  • Yep, I still have a small pile of clothes that are super cute that I look at for my goal (only 1-2 dress sizes away, so it's doable).....I just need to be diligent at working out & watching what I eat

    Absolutely.

I was the smallest I've ever been at the end of Highschool/beginning of College.  Still have most of those dresses and pants.  I had to get rid of some of the shirts because my chest size has just gotten too big with BFing and whatnot.  I honestly think that even if I lose some weight that my chest will still be larger, so I donated most of the shirts.

Hahaha... Same here.  I was down to about a size 6 and thought "if only I could lose a few more pounds." Or the fact that I thought I looked kinda' fat on my wedding day.  I look back at those pictures now and have to laugh.

Uhhh, yeah.  Makes me sick now.
