Farmer's Market starts today!
Such a nice day out I'm taking the kids for a walk to Northville's Farmer's Market....just see what they have right now....I'm hoping to get more fresh produce & support our local farmers. Plus I'll get a great workout, it's about 20 min walk w/a few hills both ways to get there.
Who else enjoys Farmer's Markets? I know they have different dates for different cities, so there should be a day everyone can make one.
I believe Walled Lake is Wed. & Plymouth is Sat. morning.
Re: Farmer's Market starts today!
Downtown Famrington's starts this weekend and runs every weekend from now until the Saturday before Thanksgiving - Saturday's from 9-2 in the square at Grand River and Farmington.
DH and I go every week - we know a lot of the farmers, they usually have some kind of music and kids activities, cooking demonstartins and this year at the beginning they are doing "healthy living" type stuff around a new fitness trail that runs through downtown. DH and I love going!
In case anyone else is wondering what their nearest farmer's market I found this website:

I had no idea there were so many! Now I am excited.

I grew up in RO and I have never been, is it a good? I know the building is pretty small.
Thanks for sharing this! I didnt know they had one in Shelby Twp. Ill have to check it out next time we are in town visiting MIL.
I was at Northville's this morning, it was mostly plants and herbs this week. Good prices on them though.
I go right after I drop Will off at school, so I'm there around 9:15-9:20ish if anyone ever wants to meet up!
I will definitely come to check out Northville's Farmers Market on a Thursday! Maybe we can have an informal meet-up/gtg.
I like the Royal Oak one best...they are open Saturdays year round and Fridays from now until November or so. Birmingham is open now too, Sunday mornings, and it's okay there, but I prefer Royal Oak. During growing season, Royal Oak only allows vendors who actually grow/produce their own food, so you know it's the freshest it can be!
Farmers Markets are so wonderful. I love the fact that you can support small businesses and get some home grown veggies at the same time. Sometimes they have extra goodies.. and added bonus. One more sign that spring is finally here...FINALLY!!!
PS..Brighton has one on Saturday!
