Buenas dias! Happy Cinco de Mayo!
I am sleepy times this morning.
Last night we went to Pat's Steaks in South Philly then to the Mummer's Museum to take Flat Gracie pics, then to the Phillies game. We had awesome seats right on the third base line next to left field. It was cold so we left after the 7th inning since it was a blowout. It was fun.
We got home at 10, I packed my gym bag and lunch and we watched Modern Family. I had a hard time going to sleep and didn't fall asleep until around 12.
No gym today, walking at lunch instead to take Flat Gracie to some historic sights: Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross's House, Independence Hall, Elfreth's Alley. I might also do Love Park and Reading Terminal today.
Next week she'll go to the City Hall observation deck, the Art Museum and the Rocky statue. She will also have a soft pretzel of course.
Re: Jolly Thursday to you and you and you OLE
hola!
The morning dj's on the rock station are celebrating Cinco de Mayo, by making it Cinco de MAY-O and jumping into about 400 gallons of Mayo. That's all I've been picturing today.
Last night made dinner, did dishes, and then laid in bed. I was EXHAUSTED! and J was doing homework. I throughly enjoyed being lazy.
Ew, I don't even like to touch mayo let alone jump into it. Foul! But funny.
I am super tired today, and the day is already dragging. Balls.
mmmm, soft pretzel. i want.
spent the night in the lovely ER of dartmouth hitchcock. my poor dad had some serious back and body issues that landed him there at 2 in the afternoon. my mom called me at 7 to see if i could switch with her so she could go home and rest, bc my dad still hadn't been seen yet. the assumption was: go spend an hour or two with dad and then bring him home when he is done. the result: go spend 4 hours with dad, meet with a neurosurgeon, get admitted to the hospital, have emergency spinal chord surgery first thing in the morning.
i am pooped. at work, which is nicely right across the street from the hospital. dad is in surgery now, and my mom had appointments all morning to meet with HER surgeon, so she doesnt even know where my dad is/that he is in surgery. she thought it would be later in the day so she could go up and see him after her appointments. a little hectic to say the least.
add that to the millions of work things i need to do, plus the run i need to go on, the stomach ache i have, and th packing i have to do for toronto tomorrow. and the house cleaning that MUST be done....

T&P for your pa, Shauni
Steph-please tell me who is Flat Gracie and why is she getting a soft pretzel and a tour of the city?
I'm one tired mama today. Got off work, went to bank, tanning, got gas and went for a 7 mile bike ride (in which I fell into a fence). When I got home, MIL was waiting to take us to dinner. Jumped in the shower for approx 2.5 minutes (just enough to wash the stink off) and went to Rib City. Ribs and beer is the most amazing dinner after a kick asss bike ride.
Got home and started packing. We're moving within the next week or so. Kind of a fecked up situation w/ MIL buying a house for HER then asking us to move in, so she can reno our townhouse and sell it. Hurts my head to think about, there are so many things wrong w/ this. Will just go w/ the flow and hope we can get our own place soon enough.
Sore from bike ride. Sore from packing. Sore from my easy tone shoes. Sore from my too tight panties cutting off circulation to my legs. Happy Cinco!
Morning!
I kinda wish I didn't make taco's on monday night. I could have had them tonight. I guess I had chicken taco last night when we went out. So I think I had my fill of mexican food this week.
I'm really annoyed I brought yogurt to work and just realized I bought the wrong kind. I am very picky with my yogurt I really only like the Dannon raseberry, it has no chunks. I bought strawberry. So I am now eating order the little pieces of strawberry chunks.
Shauni- T & P's for your dad and you mom it looks like. Speedy recover to them both
Happy Cinco de Mayo! I wasn't planning on celebrating it until everyone at work started talking about it. We have a small grill here so we're going to do some grilling. We have a partially mexican menu.
Steak kebabs, salsa and cream cheese with tortilla chips, grilled corn, and then some type of potato or pasta salad.
I didn't do anything last night. And I told my diet to eff off until Monday. I had a bag of popcorn and a brownie for dinner last night. It was wonderfully delicious. I'm having pizza for dinner tonight, but I'm debating on picking up some other ingredients to switch it to a Mexican pizza.
Married / The Cookaholic Wife
In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I'm stopping at my favorite taqueria here on my way home (half day at the training) and getting a roast chicken and sides (rice, tortillas, salsa) for dinner. Yum!
But...hoping I'll actually be able to eat it. I started actually upchucking yesterday, at 10 weeks. Boooo Couldn't keep down a thing all day, not even saltines and ginger ale. Missed a whole day of training. I feel a little better this morning, so ordered oatmeal from room service and I'm waiting to see if that helps.
Shauni, my gosh! T&P for you and your dad.
Whoaaaaaaaa nelly, Shauni. That is a lot. Many thoughts for your dad right now, and your mom too. You are a good daughter. You do have a lot on your plate right now. Hang in there.
Misty, google the Flat Stanley Project. Third graders learn about cartography by sending flat versions of themselves to people in other cities/towns. So Flat Gracie is a Flat Stanley, only personalized. My friend Michelle's daughter in Iowa sent her to us.
Wait Misty, I didn't read well enough the first time. You have zero notice you're moving, and you are moving in with your MIL? Wah and wah.
MushE-oof. baby sickies, that's tough. Do you think you could stomach a smoothie? My friend was sick throughout her entire pregnancy and could only keep down smoothies for 7 months. No joke. She had to get all of her nutrients through them.
Shauni sorry about your dad! You're in my thoughts.
Mush sorry you're puking. B6 and eat protein before bed.
Brew I saw on the FB that you fell into a fence. I hate to admit but I laughed because I have done that before.
I did little to nothing last night and Toby has another softball game tonight. E is excited. Im just excited to get home afterwards! We're doing enchaladas tonight and I still have a pitcher of margarita in my fridge. Nothing like being hungover at work on a friday!
Shauni - T&P going up for you, your dad and mom.
Yesterday when I left work, Jeremy told me to meet him somewhere because he was STARVING so we hit up Zaxby's for an early dinner. He also signed us up for a gym membership and had planned on going but I had to wait for my food to settle. While it settled, I read feel asleep for 2.5 hours, woke, took a benadryl and promptly went back to sleep. I was a major sloth last night but felt very refreshed this morning!
Today is work with lots of paperwork and trying to figure out what I'm doing this summer. I got an offer but they want me for a year at a nursing home and I just can't leave my kiddos.
thanks all, nothing too crazy, just a little hectic--to clarify/so you can see how hectic it really was:
-my mom had scheduled gastric bypass surgery for today at 8:30 am
-my dad was brought to the ER at the same hospital at 2 yesterday
-my mom decided after 5 hours there that she needed to come home and prep for her own surgery
-my dad got finally admitted into the actual hospital at about midnight last night. they assumed he would have surgery, but were not sure at that point
-my mom got the the hospital for her surgery knowing my dad might have to have his too. she went in, got admitted, etc. my dad then found out bright and early that he had to have surgery right away, but my mom was already admitted and they could not reach her to tell her.
-frantic calls to my phone from docs and my dad
-finally they reached my mom, her surgery is postponed for 2 weeks. dad is in surgery now (very minor surgery, should be out of the hospital by tomorrow) and my mom is in the waiting room with him
-hectic much? its only 11, i have not eaten yet, i hardly slept, and i want a shot of tequila. oh, and its my sisters 25th birthday.

Aww, vibes your way Shauni. And some serenity to you, Brew, to get through all that mess.
Today is ok. I woke up with a sore throat and it still hasn't gone away, but other than that (and a little phlegm) I feel fine so I don't know what that's about. Things are tense at work right now because of things unrelated to me, but it makes for an uncomfortable environment. Plus even if it isn't me he's screwing with, it still bugs me that my boss treats people like crap. Le sigh.
I didn't have any Cinco de Mayo plans, but if we decide to go to out after work I ma join in just because of all this tension!
Happy Cinco de Mayo! I will be getting my drink on tonight at Chevy's. I told Richard that we had a three drink minimum, then I was like wait a minute, I mean 3 drink maximum. We have modelos and margarita stuff in the fridge so we can drink more when we get home.
Shauni- T&P
Moleson- 400 gallons of mayo
Brew- We're moving at the end of the month so I feel your pain.
Thursday....all I have to say is thank gosh tomorrow is Friday!
We have plans to spend time with friends this weekend and that is exactly what I need and maybe a few drinks!!
Thinking of you Shauni.
Worked last night and am having a really lazy day today since it is supposed to rain all day and night. Not planning on celebrating cinco de mayo, but I am tempted to run to the store for margarita supplies.
Also random, but I had a dream with you girls in it last night. I am not one to dream, but last night I had a bunch of vivid dreams with a lot of people in them...it was weird.
