Airport Parking?

I know I don't post in here a ton, but I was hoping I could get some help.

DH and I leave for vacation soon and we are flying out of DTW. I am not sure where we should park.  We have not driven and parked a car there before.  So what lot do you ladies recommend? I don't want to spend a ton of money if possible.

Re: Airport Parking?

  • Whenever we fly out of DTW we park in the "big blue deck"
  • I'll drive you...  for gas money, lol.  I'm working PT and bored all the time...

I'm not sure, otherwise, but I think it depends on the terminal as far as parking costs.  I think, generally, it's around $10/day.  Otherwise, they have slightly cheaper options with shuttle services for like $6-8/day.  If you're flying Delta - the best option is parking right at McNamara Terminal for the $10/day.

  • Oh, takeRock up on her offer to drive you for the cost of gas! LOL.

It's $10/day to park up there. You can tray and search big blue deck parking for coupons.

If you park offsite you can get the $6-8, but then you have to wait for the shuttle and worry about your car.

Lol, thanks for the offer!  We are going to Vegas again :)

Thanks everyone else for the suggesions!   We are flying Southwest, so I am not even sure which terminal we are at.  Guess I need to figure that out pretty quick.

  • We typically park offsite and it's a free shuttle to your terminal (not including tip). We've used Park N Go several times. There's usually a coupon on their website.

So jealous, I want to go to Vegas!

  • last time we flew somewhere we used park n go or fly or whatever it is...my parents park thete everytime they go to scottsdale (min. of 2 weeks each trip) and they never had any issues so that's what we went with. very simple...you can make your reservations and prepay online.

This is what we do! You usually can get a free coupon or a discount of some sort on their website! You NEVER have to wait for a shuttle, they see you drive in and are parked behind you waiting for you! It's nice! I never worry about my car. We leave tomorrow night for Vegas! Have fun!

  • We use Park and Go too!  I'm pretty sure in addition if you don't have a coupon they have a AAA discount.  I've never had to wait for a shuttle.  Maybe at the airport on the way back but only cause we had just missed it.  I think it came within 10 minutes.

We used big blue deck when we went to Florida.  In January, I would have rather parked with a  shuttle...it was flippin FREEZING and you had to walk though all the terminals and the elevators were not working so we dragged our stuff down the steps...it was a mess and I wouldn't park there again (at least not in the winter)
