random CD question

for the cloth diaper mommas -

do you use liners for non EBF babies? I mentioned to my parents last night about CDing and my dad is all freaked about the poop factor.  I had kind of planned on using liners when its not water soluable anymore and flushing them (I have zero interest in a sprayer). is this realistic?

Re: random CD question

  • I just started using liners in the last week or so and only because she is so regular now that I only use them with 1 or 2 diapers.

I don't have a sprayer either. Up until we started with the liners I would dunk in the toilet. Once most of the poop was off I would then use a toothbrush in the utility sink to scrub if they were really bad.

I tried using the liners when she was EBF (i know this isn't what you asked but it may help a bit) and it was so runny that it didn't really provide any type of barrier or didn't catch anything.

  • I'm not sure how soft they are and that would be my only concern.

We do fleece liners (I got a big remnant and cut them, no need to sew/serge or anything) and it helps them come off.

That being said. I love my sprayer.

Liners aren't going to catch everything no matter what so you'll still need to dunk/swish or spray IMO

  • I haven't used liners so I can't offer much advice. I have a diaper sprayer and I love not having to dunk and swirl. Although most solids just plop right off, the sprayer is super for getting off the sticky parts.

The only draw back to the sprayer is finding the right water strength...
