Re: baby names

  • Lately traditional.
  • To me, it depends on the name.  I love family names, which I guess means I love traditional names.

  • I want to do family names, although the girl first name I have picked is getting more attention now, boo!

  • It depends on the name.  I like some of the traditional names and some of the modern names.

  • Short traditional names. Unfortunately the ones that seem to be the most popular.

    My girls list is:

    Emma
    Olivia
    Grace
    Anna

  • I guess that, for the most part, I'm a fan of traditional names.  Drew seems to like a more tradional name too.  Naming a child ought to be real fun with him.  He's pretty indecisive.  I have my heart set on a girl name that is sorta popular, but absolutely no clue on a boy name.  I'd like to name a boy after my dad, but I don't know.

  • I tend to like traditional. I also am a huge advocate for spelling names the regular way. It bothers me when people take a name and spell it weird just to be different. Your poor kid is going to spend his/her life correcting people.

  • We are traditional as well.

We have traditional names picked out, but who knows what they will be when we have kids.
  • Traditional. And like Alicia, I like short ones. Ava, Emma, Kate...

I looooved Emma until it exploded b/c of Ross and Rachel!  And I was SET on Olivia and then my bff had her daughter and named her Olivia. We had never discussed names and she said if I had told her she wouldn't have picked it. I said, don't be silly b/c who knows if I'll ever have a girl and lo and behold, I didn't!

And my hypothetical daughter was always going to have the middle name Charlotte after my grandmother.

  • I like more traditional names but both of our names do not exactly fall into strictly traditional genre. I am not sure how to categorize them.

  • both

however, i believe strongly in family significance for middle names (when naming my own children).   it doesn't have to be the exact name, but it somehow tying together is how we chose zoey's middle name.

  • Traditional. But I do like some modern name but not "modern" spellings, especially of the traditional names.
