Hmm... V's convocation

Apparently, because I am university staff, I can join the academic procession at V's convocation. I'd even get to wear the regalia and everything!

Hmm... should I? Big Smile

  • Absolutely! I think you should. How great would that be to participate in that? Very exciting.  Of course we will all want to see pics!

I think it would be neat!  The whole family would be taking part.

  • I wouldn't only because I don't like convocations and I'd be afraid that my boredom would be more visible when in fancy dress.
  • I agree with kaesha. I have the option every year to dress up in regalia, and I always decline. I can't imagine getting stuck up front for the whole thing, with no escape. As university staff, though, you should be able to get some VIP seating for the convocation. At least then you would sit up front but not be stuck.

  • If it was me, I would probably prefer to watch it as a spectator rather than as a person with responsibility.
  • I think I'd opt out and just be a spectator for the reasons everyone said. And I like sitting with friends and family so we can share the fun and pride of watching the graduate walk.
  • Well I think I'd still be sitting as a spectator with my ILs. Space is always so limited for these convocations that they don't actually reserve seats for staff unless one of the graduates requests them a ticket as a guest.
