Pest Control

I've never lived somewhere where pest control was common. We've lived in our house for almost 2 years and have only had one treatment, but I'm wondering if we should sign up with a contract for preventative measures.

1)  Do you think it's necessary/advised?

2) What company do you use?

3) What does it cost? (if you don't mind answering)

 Thanks!

  • We've used pest control on an as-needed basis. We use Aztec, which is an organic company, and they have solved all of the issues we've ever had without toxic chemicals. I want to say it's about $80 a visit, but they can give you a quote.

    This. They are great!

  • We use ABC, we pay about $200-$250 a year (I can't remember the exact amount).  They come at least 2x a year and more if we need it (and if I see even the tiniest bug in the house, believe me, I call them).  I never thought I needed them but we have a lot of heavy vegitation around the house and overhanging our roof and tree roaches were getting in the house.  One even crawled across my hand while I was asleep!

I like the idea of a steady service to come regardless of if we think we need it, it saves any roach-across-the-hand mishaps because you never think you need it until you have an incident like that...
