Why don't I listen? We bought a tiny-ass one bedroom condo in Rosslyn for significantly more than that. Ugh.

  • I don't like the kitchen, but its an easy fix.
  • yeah, looking at listings down there can make you insane. Our good friends in Chapel Hill just bought a gorgeous, brand new house for less than half of what we paid for our house. It has every upgrade and cool new house feature that I've ever heard and some that I hadn't!

it's in a beautiful neighborhood with a fantastic playground literally right across the street from their house. we went down there for their super bowl party and DH practically had to drag me, kicking and screaming back to DC :-(

  • i can't even imagine ever ever living in a house that big. i would have no idea what to do with that much space nor would i want to spend the time/money filling it!

    ditto. and cleaning it!

also, there's nothing that would make me want go further south than the metro DC area! i'm a northeast gal all the way.

we are from South Carolina - so anything to get us back there will work.

as for the house size - when we move next, its where we will be for the night haul in life -- we plan on starting a family and Raleigh is 4 hours from my parents and his parents - so just perfect that they can stay a few days without being too much.

  • My husband's company is in Cary.  Nice house! Yeah, you definitely get more for your money down there.
