Lots of PIPs of cloth diapers (for Punky, CDC)

I figured it's easier to post them in order here, where I can caption them, rather than attach them to an email.

Ok, so here is our changing table, which doubles as his dresser.

Top drawer:

On the left are fitteds (Goodmama, Orange Diaper Co, Mamamade, Twinkie Tush)

image

The middle row is my 3 overnight fitteds and AI2s (all Goodmama or Star Baby Designs), the 2 right rows are pockets, a bunch of brands.

image

The bottom drawer of the dresser has DS's pjs on the left, wet bags and pail liners in the middle, extra microfiber and hemp inserts, and prefolds on the left.

image

The drawer on the right side of the dresser, the tower part, has all of his diaper creams, disposable liners, and his wool soakers

image

In the cabinet on the right, we keep back up disposable diapers, Flip and gDiaper disposable inserts, and gDiapers

Re: Lots of PIPs of cloth diapers (for Punky, CDC)

  • SUPER cute! I love all the little designs!

I'll do a post like this over the weekend or next week. My stash isn't quite as extensive as yours though :)

  • If you get into fitteds or AI2s, then the patterns are endless. They're much harder to find in pockets.

Is this kind of similar to how you organize yours?

  • Wow! We've talked about using CDs when we have kids - these pictures are both impressive and intimidating!

I'm still working on DH to get into CDing... we're hopefully going to the Diaper Lab workshop next weekend to learn more but right now I'm drooling. You are incredibly organized!

    e

Yes, I'm def a pocket girl. Except the drybees, but even those allow for extra stuffing!

My dipes are organized that way, but only take up 1 drawer, then there are extra doublers, then his wash cloths for his wiping.

I'll take some pix but I don't have as much stuff as you do :)

  • Don't be intimidated! Yes, there's a lot to learn when you start CDing, but one week into it I felt like an CD expert.

Mesa, it is so much easier than it seems. I basically told DH it was something I really wanted to do and he let me but he wasn't into it. Now he's totally on board, he's actually really bummed out that DS is in disposable diapers at the moment for his rash!

He's just heard "nightmare stories" from his friend who quit after maybe a week? I don't actually know how long they used them. And he's scared of washing them-- but he agreed to the class, which is a step. He is more agreeable to the g-diapers and that sort of concept than the others.

I really can't be around much wool- it kills my allergies/ asthma. How wooly are the soakers? I wonder if I'd have a hard time with them.

  • You are so impressively organized!

One thing I've been wondering about is why everyone seems to use so many different brands.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • I just looked up gDiapers - sign me up for those!! What a great concept

  • Mesa, I ask LadyE for all of her advice! LOL

I don't use wool. I use microfiber inserts.

Rock, I use different brands because I was sold on one brand (bumGenius) bought a ton of them, then realized DS is too long and lean for them. So Lady sent me 3 other brands to try out and I fell in love with all 3 of those brands, so I bought some extras. Then she rec'd some other brands she liked, so I bought those.

Then I looked at some more online and narrow down what makes sense for us, and buy 1 of those. So some brands I have 2-5 diapers, some I only have 1 of each brand.

It's addicting. I don't even want to discuss how much I spent in 2 weeks on diapers.

    that is EXACTLY right.

  • gDiapers are a great idea in theory, but not very practical in use. Some people love them but, honestly, I think it's only because they haven't tried anything else because there are SO many better and more convenient options. If you're interested in diaper systems with both cloth and disposable options, check out Flip and GroVia, both of which are much better, IMO.

Mesa, wool is used as a cover, so if you're sensitive to it then I wouldn't use it at all. Some babies react to it, also.

I am an extreme diaper pusher, and I know it!

  • Mesa, et al:

LadyE and I can compile our list of our diapers and what we love and recommend. She has a baby who is a little bit bigger than mine so you have 2 body types you can keep in mind for fit as well.

Uhh I totally didn't mean to create work for LadyE...I know she loves to talk about it though so maybe that helps?  Big Smile

DS is really chunking out, too! You should see his thigh rolls! Hehe

I will talk about diapers allll day long.

I will be happy to do so! I've done so much research and tried so many brands that I'm always happy to be able to help someone with all of my otherwise useless knowledge!

Thanks! I also post on the Maine board and 75% of those ladies CD so I've had tons of reading from them too-- I just hope DH hops on board with it because I definitely can see it working.
  • I am in love with your stash!!!!  They look so great!

I'm pretty sure your stash will outshine mine eventually!

The problem is, at the moment I have 6 more diapers on the way... And you know there will be more. Embarrassed I'll need to start selling once I can't squish them all into that top drawer. I've already considered selling my whole gDiaper set, especially since I have a bunch of prefolds and PUL covers on the way.

I was trying to calculate what I have on the way.  You know I ordered a bunch of stuff last week.  I ordered a couple  PUL covers, but they have not shipped yet.  I think because they are being made.  In the description it said to choose color, size and snaps....so I am assuming that they have to make them first.  I love getting packages in the mail.  I told myself I am not going to order anymore until I receive everything I have coming in.  Ha ha ha.

  • That's an excellent goal! I wouldn't be able to do it... My goal was no more diapers this WEEK and I've already spent $60 on prefolds...

They look awesome, don't they? That's my kind of prefold! Haha

I ordered a bunch of prefolds off cottonbabies... I'm tempted at order some from GMD too. Especially since there's nothing I want from GM today.

  • Nice stash :)
