Woot woot!

A little AW here. I'm 0.4 pounds away from having lost 25 pounds :) I started in Feb. Ive has plenty of cheats, but have been so good turning down cookies, brownies etc.! I've met my goal I had set for sept. so now the new goal Is college/high school weight. Finally shedding all of that weird sickness weight and med school fat ( can't blame the baby on this) and feel so good!

Re: Woot woot!

Yup! Lots of perseverance with the diet portion since I am only about to do on average 20 minutes of cardio a day because of my knee and foot. Sugarless fudgesicles are my friend now. I've cut out most of my carbs and sugars and when I do have them I make sure there is a lot of fiber. But, I've had Pizza Hut, birthday cake, Fried seafood here and there too :)

I'm wearing clothes that have been put away for years. I have a whole new wardrobe without shopping :)

That is really awesome, I'm so inspired! The diet part is my problem. I am usually quite active but then I think "oh I ran 5 miles ... I'll have another glass of wine." And so forth. Fail. Time to crack down haha.

My problem is I'd diet and get bored, but knowing that I can't be as phsycially active yet still want to achieve my goal has kicked me into gear this time. The best reinforcement for me is after a few weeks of being great I'll cheat and then my body kind of turns against me. My stomach feels awful, so it trains my mind to think "ugh, if I eat greasy food I'm going to be up all night" and then slowly I just stop. Of course, I'll crave again a few weeks later, but it got me to 3 weeks so I'm happy!

  • Oh my gosh congrats and you are my inspiration! 25lbs in 3 months!! so tell me exactly what you did so I can follow...

Oh my gosh congrats and you are my inspiration! 25lbs in 3 months!! so tell me exactly what you did so I can follow...

For the first month I did South Beach. It helped me get through cutting back on carbs and teaching my body to use other things for fuel. Then, after a month, I kind of did a modified version of that, American Healthy Heart, and what I liked :) The biggest thing is serving sizes. After 2 weeks you can have carbs back, but you need to only have 6 triscuits, or half a cup of uncooked pasta. Not the whole box :P  Even now I find myself totally content with 3 cups of air popped popcorn. Before dieting there would have been no way. The big motivator is the weight loss. Whenever I want to have sometihng I ask myself, is it worth going up a size in jeans? This weekend has been full of cheats, but they are still better cheats IE: Mini blizzard at DQ, rather then a medium!

JiJI - I held strong, no cupcakes at your house or donuts at the Meetups :) It's so hard sometimes, but I know if I have one I'll have 3!
