How is LJ doing with his eating? I've been thinking with you guys and hoping he is continuing to make great progress!

Re: **MJ**
You are too sweet! Thank you for asking.
He's still a terrible eater. And I feel like a terrible mom.
He gobbles up crackers, puffs, num-nums, and basically anything else with a tough/crunchy texture (we did make progress with toasted waffles!).
Anything soft or squishy is immediately rejected. I keep putting those out for him first, but he makes 'the face' and then they go on the floor. Same thing with anything presented on a spoon. Even cheerios on a spoon isn't allowed (yes I've tried, how silly).
I know I should just stop with anything after he rejects soft/mushy things so he gets the message that those are HIS food and the only 'option' but the other part of me is so happy to see him eat a cracker that I can't...
Am I doing this wrong? I'd love advice.
(wow, that turned into a novel... sorry)

Bless your heart- you could NEVER be a bad mom! I don't know you but can tell from your posts that you are so great and do everything you can to support him in being a better eater. Let me tell you E was (and still is) an incredibly picky eater and had lots of texture issues. I can't really blame her because I am much the same way to be honest. She is VERY resistant to trying new foods and foods with different textures (ie yogurt with chunks). The hardest thing for me has been trying not to compare her with other kiddos like the girl at daycare that will eat ANYTHING that is put in front of her while E has lie a 4 food rotation lol!
Side note- funny story. Our sitter emails me several times a day to update on the kiddos. The other day she emailed and said that for lunch she tried to give E the noodles from tuna casserole. E of course pushed them away and said "No thank you." (At least my manners lectures don't fall on deaf ears!
) So then the sitter gave her chicken nuggests and E said "Thanks Granny! That's MUCH better!" Ha!
Don't beat yourself up- you are a GREAT mommy and he is happy and healthy and that's all that matters! He will totally come around in his own time- he WILL! The other night E was randomly grabbing handfuls of wild rice off my plate and I thought I was going to have a heart attack I was so surprised! Hang in there!
Oh and WOW my original post makes me sound like a crazy person- clearly "I've been thinking WITH you guys" should say "I've beeen thinking ABOUT you guys!" Good lord I need some sleep!
Aw thanks. I know that sooner or later he has to eat something, right? I mean he's almost 1... he can't live off cheerios and animal crackers
I'm trying not to stress myself out about it. He's just such a happy, funny little guy that I figure a texture-phobia is a pretty lucky problem to have. Right? (trying to find the silver lining!)
But thank you again for asking!
PS - "Thanks Granny!" haha, that's hilarious!!! At least she knows what she likes and using awesome manners
It's pretty cool you get email updates too
I bet you're glad this first week back is over!
