Hey guys! I have recently been approved to be a foster home for dogs for
an animal rescue called Paws in the City that works to prevent unwanted
animals from being euthanized. I hope y'all don't mind if I post any
doggies I foster on here. I want to do everything I can to try to get
them adopted.
I got this sweet girl tonight named Sweetpea, and she has done amazingly
well dealing with my 3 crazy dogs. She is 4 months old, potty trained,
fixed, and current on her shots. She is very affectionate and loving,
and she immediately laid down in my lap when I met her and gave me
kisses!
If anyone is interested in her, we are going to an adoption event with
PITC tomorrow from 11-4 at Plaza at Preston Center, which is just east
of Preston on Northwest Highway. We will be next to Baskin Robbins in
the Corner Bakery building. Or if you'd like to see her somewhere else
just let me know!
Thanks so much girls!
Angela

Re: Puppy for Adoption!
Summer - What would he do if you just showed up with her? He may be upset at first, but I bet he would warm up in no time.
At least that is what happened with my Mom & Dad. My Dad pretended like he hated the dog for a least a year, but if you snuck on them he was petting him and feeding him, etc when he thought no one was looking. :-)
Not that I can tell. It doesn't come off with petting her, but I have 3 other dogs so I can't really tell. She isn't as long haired as my lab who sheds a lot. She's really soft, I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
Summer- yes you need to crack him!
Hahaha. I don't know, honestly.
But, I wouldn't do that. Because I would be pissed if the situation were reversed, and he brought home a puppy when I clearly told him I didn't want one. I respect his reasons for not wanting one. He doesn't want to incur the added expense right now, and I understand that and he's right. Our money should be going to other things. I definitely don't think it's a decision that should be made if one person isn't ready, kind of like a child. Because pets are a huge responsibility.
She'd be a good companion for your dog! :-p

Yea to another PITC volunteer!! I'm actually working on the signs for this years TH&T fundraiser as we speak.
I can't come to the event tomorrow, but I transport pups when I can to the events. I'll be transporting next week so maybe I'll see you out there.
Ladies thinking about adopting - I cannot stress enough the benefits of adopting through Paws. We are the ones the shelters call when they are going to put dog downs. AND most of the dogs are in foster homes (like Texas Treasure's!) and they are trained. You'd be adopting a dog that has been worked with.
Maybe that would cure his baby fever!
Haha. DH would freak out.
