Anyone have an indoor herb garden?
I've been wanting to start one. I like using fresh herbs for cooking, but I find that grocery stores only have them in large quantities and then they end up going bad before I can use them. Plus, I just think it would be nice to have them on hand at all times:)
My kitchen gets plenty of light, so I don't think that will be an issue. Are bugs something I should worry about? Should I use one large pot to hold them all or several small ones? I've been google-ing a bit, but there seems to be a lot of different advice out there.
Any other thoughts/advice?

I'm doing a potted herb garen this year, so that I can move it inside when it gets cold here.
I know rosemary is really easy to grow, as is chives, thyme, and mint. Some things it's ok to put them all in one pot, but others have a tendancy to take over, like mint. Mint needs to be in it's own pot or it will over take the other plants. Rosemary can get really big, so they recommend doing it in it's own pot.
I think most herbs do best in direct sun, but the little stick-card thingies should be able to tell you that about each.
Basil can be kind of finicky - some people in some climates have really good luck with it, others just don't.
I'm planning on doing: rosemary, chives, thyme, basil, Italian parsley, and maybe mint.

Maybe I'll just try 3 to start and then go from there...
Are you going to start with seeds or plants? From what I've read it seems like starting with plants is the way to go.
