ladies with seasonal allergies

Ok, so I'm not sure if this is all in my head, or a true MIRACLE, but I wanted to share.  I have heard/read about using honey from your local farms as a way to alleve allergy symptoms.  I recently bought some locally produced honey, and I've been eating about a tbsp a day, and I swear, I don't feel miserable!!!  By this time, I would have been on clarinex or something, and I'm NOT!  I still feel a little itchy throat and occasionally I have sneezing fits, but it's NOTHING like it was in years' past.  You might want to give it a try!

ETA: this is of course only if you have pollen allergies, because bees use the pollen that you are allergic to to make the honey.  works kinda like a vaccine... :)

  • I've heard about this but have never given it a try - thanks for the input because now you have me curious!

  • Thats great! I'm glad its working so well for you! I've also heard good things about this method. So I'm glad to hear it worked for you! Much better then taking meds if you don't have to.

However word of warning in case there are people lurking or who found this on google NEVER give honey to babies. Always check w/ the pediatrician before doing so. Never know who could find/read this.

  • Worth a try! I'm fighting allergies to something practically year round, and pollen especially kills me this time of year! Thanks :-)

  • Yup it is supposed to help, also you can buy bee pollen in capsules and take a little out of the caps (there's little balls of it inside the caps) and increase the amount a little at a time. I never went to an allergist to diagnose what I deal with but I prob should so I know how to treat it even with my alternative meds / supplements.

FYI if any of you ladies are interested in natural remedies in general the naturopaths I knew have a website www.spaceandtime.com with lots of info and they have an email newsletter about health which I could forward a copy to anyone who wants to sign up. /post hijack :-)
