ok...what are your pet peeves here?
Mine are...nuke-ular, instead of nuclear...axed instead of asked...i-dear instead of idea...and kinnygarten instead of kindergarten.

Definitely hate "nuke-ular."
The only other one I can think of is "irregardless." Ugh, makes me cringe just thinking it.

DH says "supposably" and "literatly" (instead of "literally")
Love is deaf as well as blind.

Also, when people say "yay" instead of "yea" when they mean yea or nay. I regularly have to stop myself from correcting people on that one.

Also, can I be a b!tch and point out that the last time my mil was here, she pronounced peonies "pee-OHNEEs," said we had "aphiss" on the roses (aphids) and then asked me if I had cleMATiss (instead of clematis, which sounded like she was asking me if I had an std). Yeah, I'm b!tch.

I was thinking the same thing about "axed." But "yay" and "expresso" are not a dialect issue and they still drive me crazy!!
My #1 is sammich instead of sandwich. I have a co-irker who is twice my age that says that, it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Crick instead of Creek also drives me nuts.
