this isn't like costco/bjs where I have to pay for a membership to shop, right?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've never been there... don't know how to pronounce it either

Re: Meijer... question
I agree weekend shopping can be nutty there (especially when I am on my own, for some reason my patience is even thinner then). DH and I find it less annoying before noon, but we really prefer it to anywhere else right now.
No membership required. You don't even need a little savings card like a lot of other stores make you sign up for these days just to get their advertised sales. I prefer to shop at Meijer for the most part because they usually have pretty good sales and since they have general merchandise it's like a one-stop-shop for me.
Like others have said though, it can get a bit nuts on the weekend, so the aisles are like hell and they hardly ever have enough cashiers working. If you can, try going anytime during the week and you'll save tons of time and frustration.
