wedding question - how much time should we allow?

me, h and another girl are setting up the reception hall for h's cousin's wedding next week. i feel like it should be a snap but i don't want to be over confident and then be rushed. problem is we can get there at any time during the day and it's not close to home so if we get there too early we will have a lot of dead time. also we plan to go set it up, then leave and get ready at h's cousin's house then come back a couple hours before to meet the vendors. the reception starts at five. here are the things we have to do:

put chair covers and sashes on 150 chairs. put tablecloths on 16 tables and a few more on the cake table, gift table, etc., etc. set up the escort cards. set out the cake server set. set up the centerpieces (some vases and some votives) on 16 tables. set u a few more vases. put napkins at each place setting. that's it! before i was thinking we should get there at 8 a.m. but now i think that's overkill and we could knock it out in a couple of hours. am i being too optimistic? i have no experience with chair covers and sashes to know how time consuming they can be.

Re: wedding question - how much time should we allow?

  • I would think more like 9. You can always kill time at your family member's house when getting ready if you are done early.
  • I would do first thing in the am... Get it done first thing to have the rest of the day to do other things if needed.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • okay we're all set to meet there at 9. after talking to the bride today of course there's now more stuff on the list. it's going to be a really long day!!
