QOTD

If you won the lottery, first thing you'd do with the money?

Re: QOTD

  • Honestly?  we're boring.  The first thing's we'd do would be to up our savings, pay off our mortgage, pay off our student loans, things like that.

THEN we'd plan vacations and buy fun toys.

  • We're boring as well. We would buy a house, pay off student loans and our cars and then put the rest away in savings. Also, I would quit my job and stay at home with Xander, and then start trying for #2.

  • Pay off my parents' mortgage, my sisters' mortgage, and my 2 sisters-in-laws mortgages.

(mine will be paid off in 2 weeks with the sale anyway. :-) - cross your fingers )

  • give 10% to the church so we could buy/build our own building (we rent).

Pay off our house and car and buy Nick a new car. Buy a SFH and then pay off the mortgages of my parents, his parents and my sister. Probably give my brother some money.

Then savings obviously and quit my job!

  • Pay off the loans of us and our immediate family (including school, cars and houses), put some in savings for sisters, buy a house on the beach and a house here, put a lot in savings, invest a lot, travel the world, start a business and then live off of the interest from savings the rest of our lives.

  • I think:

    • Buy a new house, buy my grandma a little house, pay off my parent's and probably his parent's houses
    • Pay off Nick's car, buy a new car for me,
    • Set aside for Campbell's college and maybe Nick's sister's son.
    • We'd probably have to do something for his sister too.
    • Take a nice vacation.
    • Save the rest
    • Then, like Alicia, quit my job

  • Buy a house so we can get out of my parents place.

Pay off Dh's car, and if I can pay ahead on the lease on mine do that.

Give some money to my parents.  They helped us out for so long, so it would be amazing to pay some back.

    Pay off student loans.

Take a really nice vacation... to Europe.

    Put a lot into savings.

Buy new computers for both of us.

maybe quit my job to pursue a home business doing graphic stuff.

  • Pay off cars and house, set up investments (depending on amount won), set up will(s), college fund, possibly quit my job (yay- we use dh's insurance), & vacation!!!!!
  • Buy our dream house here, buy a vacation house somewhere, both get really nice cars, some money to my sister for my nieces and nephew, pay off ILs mortgage, invest, and a whole lot of travel. I think we would both quit our jobs but do some stuff on the side just to stat busy.

Pay our mortgage and student loans off. Pay off Josh's parent's mortgage off (my parent's paid their mortgage off a while ago). Buy my brother a house and pay his student loans off. Give money to Josh's brother and sister-in-law. Donate to a few of my favorite charities. Give some money to my close family and friends. Travel a bit, invest in some property, and save the rest. Of course this all depends on how much we won in the lottery=)
  • We would first pay off all of our debt. Then build our dream home, give my brother our current home, get me my dream vehicle, buy new furnishing for the new home and build C's dream shop outfitted with all the tools and crap he wants in it. Pay off some things for our parents things and invest the rest.I would quit work and start a crafting/event planning and home decorating business and C would probably just work out of his shop to have something to do and we would take vacays whenever we feel.

  • Put most of it aside in a high interest savings account or invest it.

Buy a house back in TN and move there.

    Buy us new cars.

Take a nice vacation just the two of us.

Take our families on a vacation.

Set up a college fund for Pumpkin and some for future children.

I am sure we would do some things for our families (houses, cars, etc).

    I heart Ben!!

  • Sell this house, and buy one of the historical houses in town that we love.

Finish paying off the one car payment we have, and the minimal credit debt we still have.

Start two college funds, one for Felicity, and one for a future baby.

Give a generous gift to MIL, FIL, My parents, BIL/SIL, and my sibling and let them choose to use it however they want to.

The rest would go into savings. And I'd become a SAHM, maybe just working a day or two a week, if I wanted to.

    My overly happy baby girl!

  • Sell our house and move to the beach, no idea which beach, though.  I would love to have a house in FL and a house in the OBX.

Fund college for our niece and nephew.

Invest it and enjoy living off the dividends.

  • Depending on how much money was won in said lottery, I would definitely pay off all debts (mortgage, student loans, and Rusty's credit card) and buy whatever I need for baby. I'm so boring!

  • Pay off our mortgage, then see every specialist to see if I can have a baby.  Then go on a vacation abroad and then help our families pay off what they need to pay off.  Put at least half in savings/investments.
