I know we talked about the ant problem several months ago but I can't find the post. We are having a horrible ant raiding... I swear these buggers are going to physically move the house based on the amount we have. Outside my yard is COVERED in ant hills - they're pushing the clay up from the ground and it's getting incredibly frustrating. I'm starting to see a few in the house but I know that once a few get in it's only a matter of time before we're being invaded.
I tried calling terminex and orkin over the weekend but does anyone know if they will treat the yard also or do they just treat the parameter of the house?
I went to home depot and bought a bag of bug stop which was recommended but I know that's only temporary at this point. The ant hills are starting within 2 feet of the side of the house and extending out about 50 feet. While I was cutting grass I ended up counting 75 of these hills and we only have 1/4 acre of yard. Yes it's disgusting but suggestions? Would a c ompany be able to solve this problem?
Re: Terminex or another company?
I'm not sure about the outside spraying. I would think if you have a specific request, they would spray but not sure if they would charge more. I would just call and ask.
As for indoors, we had an ant invasion last year and found that the Terro liquid ant bait worked really well. A friend of mine found it worked even better than what her exterminator was spraying (although he may have been using a different spray than normal because of her pet birds). Terro makes an outdoor product as well, but I haven't used it.
